<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biometric apparatus which allows miniaturization without need of providing a mechanical switch, dispenses with a precise vibration sensor, and reduces power consumption by a simple configuration. <P>SOLUTION: A biometric apparatus includes: at least two electrode members arranged so as to be capable of coming into contact with a measured person; a determining device that determines whether the at least two electrode members are in a conducting state via a body of the measured person or not; a measuring device that measures biometric data of the measured person; and a control device that activates or deactivates the measuring device on the basis of a result of determination provided by the determining device. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
