IMAGE RECEIVING MEDIUM FOR SUBLIMATION TYPE HEAT TRANSFER RECORDING

PURPOSE:To provide an image receiving medium on which good quality images can be formed even by printing in a speed difference mode and which is excellent in heat insulating and cushioning properties by a method wherein a sublimation dye receiving layer is provided on a base material and the synthetic paper having a specific glossiness is used as the base material. CONSTITUTION:The image receiving medium for sublimation type heat transfer recording has a sublimating dye receiving layer formed on its base material. The synthetic paper having a glossiness of at least 25% is used as the base material. As an alternative base material, the synthetic paper having a porous paper-like layer may be used. The surface of the sublimating dye receiving layer has a glossiness of at least 70%. Thus an image receiving medium on which a good quality image can be formed even by printing in a speed difference mode and which is excellent in heat insulating and cushioning properties is provided.
