Disclosed are a dehumidification device and an operation method for the same. The dehumidification device using a variable compressor is to maximize energy efficiency and maintain dehumidification performance. The dehumidification device includes: an air blasting unit enabling outer air to flow thereinto by forming the air flow, using an air blast fan and an air blast motor driving the air blast fan; a variable compressor controlling the amount of a refrigerant gas compressed as a rotation speed of a driving shaft is changed; a condenser liquefying the refrigerant gas compressed by the variable compressor; a heat exchanger cooling the air flowing in through the air blasting unit by evaporating the refrigerant gas liquefied by the condenser; and a control unit controlling the rotation speed of the driving shaft of the variable compressor at every predetermined period.
