<p>PURPOSE:To estimate the brittle fracture surface transition temperature from the experimentally obtained relational characteristic so as to enable embrittlement forecast with high accuracy by calculating the intergranular segregation quantity of an impurity element of an evaluated member at a future arbitrary point of time in a forecast calculation model corrected by a measured value. CONSTITUTION:At the time of manufacture, data of a mill sheet is substituted for a forecast calculation model to calculate the intergranular segregation quantity of an impurity element at a future point (t1) of time of an evaluated member. Subsequently, the intergranular segregation quantity at the elapsed time (t1) is measured using micro sampling material. The measured value is collated with the calculated value at the model calculated time (t1) to correct the forecast calculation model in such a manner that the calcualted value approximates to the measured value. The intergranular segregation quantity at the predetermined time (t2) of the next inspection is, for example, forecast-calculated by using the corrected forecast calculation model. FATT corresponding to the calculated value is estimated from the relational data of the calculated value, the intergranular segregation quantity previously obtained by an experiment and the brittle fracture surface transition temperature (FATT) to forecast the future embrittlement progress of an evaluated member.</p> |
