The present invention relates to a battery control device for an energy storage system using a heat exchange medium, comprising: a battery housing in which a battery is installed for storing electric power supplied from a system; a flow unit in which a heat exchange medium flows for cooling the battery; and a cooling unit in which a cooling medium flows for liquefying the heat exchange medium gasified by the heat generated from the battery.
