PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a honeycomb body for carrying a catalyst which has high light-off performance and high steady-state performance and having a small pressure loss.SOLUTION: In a honeycomb body for carrying a catalyst, a wave foil and a flat foil both made of a metal are alternately laminated to form a plurality of gas conduction paths for conducting exhaust gas in an axial direction orthogonal to the lamination direction. At least a part of an inlet-side region located closer to the exhaust gas inlet side than a center in the axial direction of the honeycomb body is provided with an off-set part where the phases of waves adjacent in the axial direction are different from each other. The wave foil arranged in the off-set part is connected without being divided in the axial direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
