PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a foreign matter removing device which can easily and securely remove a foreign matter from an object.SOLUTION: A foreign matter removing device is provided with: a foreign matter adhering part which has an adhesive surface for removing a foreign matter by contacting with an object; a long adhesive sheet which can remove the foreign matter on the adhesive surface of the foreign matter adhering part by contacting with the adhesive surface of the foreign matter adhering part; and an adhesive sheet supply and discharge mechanism which has a supply part for supplying an unused part of the adhesive sheet to the adhesive surface of the foreign matter adhering part and a discharge part for discharging a used part of the adhesive sheet. The adhesive sheet supply and discharge mechanism has a moving part which is arranged so as to approach and separate from the foreign matter adhering part. The adhesive sheet supply and discharge mechanism may make the adhesive sheet contact with the foreign matter adhering part when the moving part approaches the foreign matter adhering part, and may separate the adhesive sheet from the foreign matter adhering part when the moving part separates from the foreign matter adhering part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
