PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the use of optional devices of a network printer. SOLUTION: A printer 104 connected to copying machines 103, 106 and an image data controller 102 through an IEEE 1394 bus checks an option state and a job state and broadcasts its state to other device in an isochronous mode when the state is subject to change from the transmission of a preceding state or a prescribed time elapses from the preceding transmission. |
