The invention relates to a transverse support for a chassis frame of a rail vehicle for connecting two longitudinal supports of the chassis frame. The transverse support is designed in the shape of a box with an upper chord (1), a lower chord (2), and two lateral walls (3, 4) and has a connection portion (7, 8) for connecting to one of longitudinal supports at each end face when seen in a longitudinal direction (5). In order to reduce the torsional stiffness of the chassis frame, the transverse support is a bending part (9), and a respective bending region (10) is formed between the lateral walls (3, 4) and the upper chord (1) and between the lateral walls (3, 4) and the lower chord (2). |
