PURPOSE:To set an optimum recording power value capable of accurately recording information on various kinds of information recording media with calibration in a short time. CONSTITUTION:One sector of a test zone of a disk is written with data of a single pattern by changing recording power for every prescribed bytes. This data is reproduced to obtain a byte position where its reproducing data signal becomes max. in amplitude, and a recording power value corresponding to this byte position is set as the optimum recording power value. By this method, the optimum recording power value corresponding to a characteristic of each individual information recording medium is set with calibration in a short time without repeating recording/checking data over and over again. |
