PURPOSE: To repair leakage in a plastic pipeline under pressure by housing a defective part of a pipe in a pressure vessel for sealing the pipe, cutting off the defective part from the pipe, and fusing respective fitting parts between a repairing nipple and the pipe in respective end parts by electrofusion collars. CONSTITUTION: A selected part of a pipe 20 is housed in a pressure vessel 10. While the vessel 10 is put under pressure, the selected part is cut from the pipe 20, and a space between cut end parts of the pipe 20 is left in the vessel 10. A replacing nipple is placed in the space. The nipple supports two electrofusion collars 86. The nipple has the length fitted in the space, and the collars 86 are moved in the axial direction along the nipple to be fitted on a position where the ends of the collars 86 and a transport pipe meet with each other. The transport pipe is fused together with the nipple, and energy is imparted to the collars 86 so as to form the leakage preventive connection to thus repair leakage of a plastic pipe under pressure. |
