PURPOSE:To obtain the subject compound useful as an intermediate for pharmaceuticals by reacting a 4-(4-substituted-inden-1-yl)pentanal compound with diisopropylzinc in the presence of an optically active N,N-dialkylamino alcohol. CONSTITUTION:The objective compound is produced by reacting a 4-(4- substituted-inden-l-yl)pentanal compound of formula I [X is oxygen atom, (E)- bromomethylene or the presence of H at cr-site and OR at beta-site (R is 2-8C acyl, etc.)] with diisopropylzinc of formula II in the presence of an optically active N,Ndialkylamino alcohol. |
