1193241 Filling devices CYPRANE Ltd 10 Dec 1968 [5 Jan 1968] 823/68 Headings F2G G33 and G35 A filling device for volatile liquid anaesthetic vaporizing apparatus comprises a unit 1 attached to the wall 2 of the apparatus, the liquid being introduced into the apparatus from a bottle via a flexible conduit 6 having an outlet member 5 which fits into an aperture 4 in the unit 1, the liquid flow passage being constituted by passage 8 in conduit 6, passage 6a in member 5, and passages 12 and 11 in unit 1. Air is expelled from the apparatus to the bottle via passages 11, 13, 7a, and 7. The member 5 abuts against a pin 10 in aperture 4 such that only a member 5 of correct shape can fit into aperture 4. The conduit 6 has at its other end a screw-threaded cap (16) for attachment to a bottle (18) containing the filling liquid, the cap being arranged to fit only the neck of a bottle containing a given liquid, Fig. 2 (not shown), thus ensuring that the correct type of liquid is introduced into the apparatus. After filling, the member 5 is removed and a stop (22) is inserted to close aperture 4 and passages 12, 13, Fig. 1 (not shown). The unit 1 may have a drainage section constituted by passage 26, valve 28, chamber 27, a passage 30, leading to an aperture 31 which is the same shape as aperture 4 such that the member 5 can be inserted to drain the liquid from the apparatus. |
