In an apparatus for developing diazo sensitized sheet material 20 where the material is conveyed across the aperture 3 of an ammonia development tank 1 by an impervious conveyer band 13, a plurality of tensioned filaments 2 are stretched across the aperture to prevent the material entering the tank. The filaments are preferably wires tensioned by springs 8, are substantially parallel to the direction of movement of the material, and occupy less than 1% of the total area of the aperture. |
