PURPOSE:To eliminate necessity for a user to be conscious of a specified mail system by integrally utilizing the different kinds of electronic mail service. CONSTITUTION:A host 10 is provided with mail system parts 24-1-24-n corresponding to the plural mail systems of different protocols. When mail is transmitted from a terminal equipment 40, a mail system discrimination processing part 13 discriminates the correspondent mail system from the destination information of the mail. Thus, the mail is stored in the mail system parts 24-1-24-n corresponding to the discriminated mail system. On the other hand, when a read request to certain mail is received from the terminal equipment 40 for each mail system as an access request, a mail ID managing part 16 specifies a mail system name corresponding to the mail ID, and a mail read processing part 19 reads the mail from the mail system parts 24-2-24-n corresponding to this mail system name.
