A detachable thrust collar for a shaft 1 consists of two spaced ring members 12, 13 interengaging through peripheral teeth 17, 21 and enclosing a central resilient supporting ring 11 compressed into an annular groove 14 in the shaft. As shown ring 11 is an 0-ring, but it may be of trapezoidal section, and the rings 12, 13 have internal conical surfaces 16, 20 bearing against the outer portion of ring 11 so that under axial load a transverse component acts to compress ring 11 into the groove 14. |
