A wheel rim 1 for tubeless tyres comprises an extension 7 of the outboard bead seat 4 which increases in diameter in the axially inward direction and has an axial width L<SP>1</SP> = (p+n-1)L/(#p+n+m+1) where L is the axial width of the seat 4, n is a number chosen between 0 and 25, and p and m are numbers equal to the ratio between the inclination to the rim axis of respectively the seat 4 and the extension 7, to an angle d of which the tangent is L/2D, D being the largest diameter of the seat 4. The seat may itself increase in diameter in the axially inward direction. The extension 7 may be composed of parts having different angles of inclination to the rim axis, m being then equal to the ratio between the mean inclination of the extension and the angle d. |
