[Also in Divisions C2 and C3] A liquid aldehyde and molten urea are condensed to give resins or alkylidenediureas. In Fig. I aldehyde (e.g. hot concentrated aqueous formaldehyde) and urea are fed from containers 11 and 12 via mixing nozzle 13 into a reaction tube 14. The product passes with release of pressure and consequent partial evaporation of water into a spray drier. In Fig. 2, not shown, a rotating tube drier is used. In Fig. 3, the product is sprayed into a worm drier in which it is mixed with plant nutrients. In Fig. 4 it is sprayed onto plant nutrients on a conveyor belt. |
