The invention relates to a process for the production of powders from (A) crosslinked isocyanate-based plastics, optionally mixed with (B) thermoplastics, in which the isocyanate-based plastics (A) are polyurethane, polyurea and/or polyurethane-urea plastics, and where (A) and (B) are in a weight ratio of from 100 : 0 to 1 : 99, and where (A) has a mean functionality of >/= 2.5 in the soft segment, and whereby (A), without fillers, has a density of > 0.01, preferably from 0.01 to 1.0 g/cm<3>.
