[Also in Division G4] A two-part label has a flexible first part 1 for attachment to an article, and a flat second part 2 incorporating a frame 3 defining a window for the display of a rectilinear array of indicia 7 to be read, a read-out marker 4 on the second part and indicating the direction of read-out of the indicia, and a direction marker 5, 6 on the second part defining the direction of linearity of the array. The label is for use with an optical label reader (see Divisions G4-G6), the output of which is passed to data processing circuitry, or sorting equipment for the objects labelled. The first part 1 of the label can, in the case of a package or letter, bear destination and stamp. The second part 2 can be stiff.</p> |
