A pattern mechanism for a circular machine comprises a drum 11 whose action upon selectors 12 may be bluffed by drum 15 or drum sector. The drum 11 comprises a series of discs 11a whose projections co-operate with one end 12c of the pivoted selectors to force them to an inoperative position. Operative selectors co-operate with jack butts set out at corresponding level. The drum is continuously driven by a gear chain from the cylinder. The bluffing drum 15 carries bars 14 extending past the number of selectors to be bluffed and co-operating with the end of arm 12b. The drum is racked by a pawl 17 pivoted to an arm 19 rocked by eccentric 21. The ratchet 16 may be bluffed by a ring 22 at the dictates of the main pattern means. An intermediate step 22c on the ring permits rotation of the drum until the pawl engages a low ratchet tooth.</p> |
