[Also in Division F2] A tyre valve body 12 and a rubber wheel rim hole plug 10 have co-operating indentations 36 and flanges 20, 22 respectively so that the projecting length of the body is adjustable. The central opening of the plug is closed by a puncturable wall 18 which is punctured by a sharpened end 62 of the body when the latter is fitted subsequent to tyre inflation. A conventional screw-in tyre valve or, as shown, a check valve with a rubber seat and metal retaining washer 52 is provided in the body 12. The plug may be vacuum "sucked" " into the hole or pushed by an inserting rod (A). A tubular inserting tool (B) with an adjustable stop (C) is used for pushing the valve body for the required length into the plug.</p> |
