PURPOSE:To obtain an optical fiber communication line with high reliability, where restoration at the time of a fault and estabilishing for a new subscriber are easily executed. CONSTITUTION:A loop-shape optical fiber transmission path 1 is installed and a matrix switch outside a station 5 for executing change-over so as to make plural coated optical fiber inside the transmission path 1 in respective connection states inside the transmission path or in the connection state where they are connected to one of plural branch terminals is provided on the optical fiber transmission path 1. In the meantime, at a station side, the matrix switch inside the station 4 for connecting the individual coated optical fiber of the optical fiber transmission path 1 to the respective lines of an in-station optical transmission path in accordance with the matrix switch outside the station 5 so as to make them change-over possible is provided.
