A plastisol composition comprises (1) a mixture of two vinyl chloride resins (a) a suspension homopolymer or copolymer containing at least 80% by wt. of vinyl chloride having an average number particle diameter (determined by summing the diameters of a number of particles and dividing by the number of particles) of 80-180 microns and an inherent viscosity of 0À5-1À2 and (b) an organosol grade emulsion homopolymer or copolymer containing at least 95% by wt. of vinyl chloride having an average number particle diameter below 0À25 micron and an inherent viscosity below 0À9 and forming at least 5% by wt. of the mixture and (2) a liquid non-volatile plasticizer. Specified comonomers are vinylidene chloride, vinyl acetate, acrylonitrile and dialkyl maleate. Plasticizers are dialkyl phthalates, alkyl phthalyl alkyl glycollates, dialkyl esters of alkane dicarboxylic acids, acetyl trialkyl citrates and trialkyl and triaryl phosphates. Other ingredients are whiting, talc, clay, barytes, asbestine, carbon black, iron oxide, titanium dioxide, zinc and calcium stearates, thio-organic tin compounds, cadmium and barium laurates, stearyl alcohol, polyamide wax, paraffin and microcrystalline wax, zinc resinate, polyethylene glycol fatty acid esters and blowing agents, e.g. azodicarbonamide, dinitrosopentamethylene-tetramine, and 3,3<SP>1 </SP>- disulphonylhydrazide diphenylsulphone. The products are used for sealing containers. |
