1299573 Positive clutches DR ING H C F PORSCHE KG 23 April 1971 [25 April 1970] 11144/71 Heading F2C In a split ring type synchronizing clutch, the ring 11 is of substantially oval shape with its major dimension Y-Y perpendicular to the line X-X passing through the ring gap, the ends of the ring 16, 17 being non-aligned to define different diameters 6, 6<SP>1</SP> on opposite sides of the line X-X to compensate for the need to match different rotational speed differences between upshifts and downshifts. A mark 23, which may be the manufacturers' trademark, is applied to one end of the ring to ensure its correct positioning on assembly. A blocking band (21), Fig. 2 (not shown), is included and extends only inside that half of the ring having the larger diameter. |
