Mole plough apparatus comprises a tracked vehicle 8, operator's cabin 11, platform 10 and the mole plough blade 24 which is attached to the distal end of the outer frame 22 which is pivotally attached at 23 to the inner frame 12 mounted on platform 10. A horizontal force is applied to the vehicle by means of cables 20 engaging the winches 18 attached to frame 12 and the horizontal force combined with the horizontal drag force produces a couple which, due to the vehicle's proportions, is counteracted by a couple formed by the vertical component of drag and the reaction. This arrangement counteracts the tendency for the blade to rise during operaton. In a modification, Fig. 3 (not shown), the blade 24 is attached to the outer frame 22 by means of roller frame assembly (30) described in Specification 851,746. |
