The compns. contain (A) a thermoplastic acrylic polymer, (B) a liquid polymercaptan of mol. wt. 300-25,000 and SH equiv. of 0.05-4.0 meqs. per g. and/or a liquid high-molecular polysulphide (C) usual hardener and opt. (D) solvents, usual filters, pigments and process aids. (A) pref. has an av. mol. wt. of =100,000 and (B) an ave. mol. wt. of 800-15,000 and SH content of 0.2-3.6 meqs/g. The ingredients are packed in two separate containers one contg. the hardener and the other at least part of the polymer. They are mixed before use, giving a sealant with the excellent adhesion of acrylic polymers and the desirable elastomeric properties of polysulphides and polymercaptans. |
