[Also in Division D1] A drum or basket for a drying apparatus comprises a cylindrical body 1, Fig. 2, provided with a substantially rectangular opening on its periphery adapted to be closed by a peripherally sliding door 24. The door slides in lateral guide channels 18, 19 alongside the opening which has transverse abutments 21, 22 at the ends thereof. The abutment 21 is raised from the surface of the body 1 and overlies the front end of the door 24 when closed as shown. The abutment 22 provides a slot 23, Figs. 3 and 5 (not shown), between it and the body 1 through which the door 24 slides. The rear edge of the door is bent upwardly so as to engage resiliently the underside of the slot 23. A flat plate 31 serving as a handle is spring-loaded about a pivot 26 on the door so that it can lock on to an upstanding edge of the abutment 21 by recesses 34, Fig. 3. |
