Boric acid is produced by treating a mixture of water and crude or calcined borocalcic ore with CO2, the partial pressure of which is at least 1 bar, at a temperature above 80 DEG C. and then separating the liquid phase from the solid phase under a pressure and temperature at least equal to those under which treatment with CO2 was carried out. The pressure and temperature of the liquid phase are then decreased and the boric acid is crystallized from the liquid phase.
|
