The invention relates to a soldering machine, comprising: a soldering apparatus, where objects to be soldered are brought into contact with liquid solder; a fluxer for applying a flux layer to the objects to be soldered; and a conveying element for successively moving the objects to be soldered past the fluxer and the soldering element, wherein the fluxer makes use of low-oxygen gas in applying the flux to the objects to be soldered. It is thus possible to select a flux which can be removed using less aggressive solvents and which ensures a good soldered joint. Preferably, the fluxer is designed for the use of low-oxygen gas as a conveying medium.
