1430184 Dyeing and treating textiles HOECHST AG 26 March 1973 [24 March 1972] 14471/73 Headings D1B and DIP Flat textile materials e.g. polyacrylic, polyamide, polyester, cotton and polypropylene are treated with a foam containing a gaseous propellant and a dyestuff or other textile finishing agent, the height of the foam being adjusted by a doctor knife or a rotating roller, the foam then being destroyed either naturally or by using defoaming agents, the dye or other finishing agent then being fixed on the material e.g. by steaming. The liquid portion of the foam may be water, or an organic solvent or mixture of organic solvents or an azeotropic mixture of solvent and water. The dyestuff may be an optical brightener. The finishing agent may be dimethylol urea. |
