<p>In a loom with a shed-forming device, particularly a dobby or jacquard loom, in which in the event of a weaving fault, the shed-forming device as well as, if necessary a weft-selecting device can be uncoupled from the main shaft via a main shaft coupling and coupled with a back-running unit consisting of a back-running motor and a back-running switch coupling, the improvement whereby the back-running unit has a known type of stepwise drive between the back-running motor and the coupling, with a very high gear ratio at the beginning and end of the drive step, and preferably a limit switch for the back-running motor in the region of the maximum gear ratio. Simplifies and speeds up the reverse running of the loom so that the fault can be rectified and by eliminating the repeated shocks of start-up and stop enables the friction coupling usually required to be omitted.</p> |
