Infinitely variable chain gearing comprises an input sprocket at the centre of a rotor (4, 5) and transmitting rotation through a first chain to a sprocket at the periphery of the rotor. The latter sprocket is connected coaxially to a sprocket (10) transmitting rotation through a second chain to a further sprocket (13). Two sprockets (10, 13) respectively coaxial with latter two sprockets, and yet another sprocket (14), are mounted at the corners of a triangular segment (6) and are connected by a third chain (18), the segment being connected by a shaft to the rotor. The movement of the third chain is transmitted by sprockets of a fourth chain to an output housing surrounding the rotor.
