1503886 Non-alcoholic beverages containing galactose ROUSSEL UCLAF 17 May 1976 [16 May 1975] 20311/76 Heading C6E A non-alcoholic beverage consists essentially of galactose, riboflavin, nicotinic acid and mineral compounds exemplified by potassium chloride, monopotassium phosphate, dipotassium phosphate, potassium L-aspartate, potassium glutamate, sodium chloride, disodium phosphate, sodium glycerophosphate, sodium glutamate, monobasic magnesium phosphate and/or magnesium chloride. Preferred beverages contain 35 g/l galactose, 15-65 Ág riboflavin and 35-50 Ág nicotinic acid per gram of galactose, 480-1800 mg/l potassium, 48-480 mg/l sodium, 128-1080 mg/l phosphorus and 40-144 mg/l magnesium in an aqueous carbonated diluent. The following ingredients may be included: fructose, sucrose and/or maltitol, apricot or bilberry extract as source of riboflavin or nicotinic acid, L-aspartic acid and/or glutamic acid (as the free acids or salts of sodium or potassium), and flavouring agent (citric acid). The beverage may be prepared from the solid ingredients by mixing them with a small quantity of water to produce a concentrated solution and subsequently diluting the concentrated solution to the volume desired. |
