<p>1453347 Disazo pigments CIBA-GEIGY AG 21 June 1974 [26 June 1973] 27608/74 Heading C4P Disazo pigments have the formula wherein R 1 denotes a benzene radical, R 2 denotes an aromatic radical, X and X<SP>1</SP> denote H or Cl, alkyl or alkoxy groups containing 1-6 C, or optionally substituted aryloxy groups, R 3 denotes an alkyl group containing 1-6 C, an allyl group, or an optionally substituted aryl radical, and Z denotes H or halogen, an alkoxy group containing 1-6 C, or a nitro or CN group. The pigments may be prepared by (a) condensing a diazo carboxylic acid halide in the molar ratio 2 : 1 with an aromatic diamine, or (b) by coupling a diazo or diazoamino compound of an amine in the molar ratio 2 : 1 with a 2,3-hydroxynaphthoic acid arylide. The pigments give reddish hues with a variety of polymeric materials, e.g. polyvinyl chloride, lacquers and printing inks.</p> |
