The axial thrust bearing incorporates a track (5) for several cylindrical roller bearings (1) or similar in a washer cage (3), the track being set on an annular backing plate (7). The backing plate has an external flange (9) which retains the rollers in the radial sense and extends radially towards the axis (x-x) to serve as a means of fixing the in situ assembled bearing in the axial sense. Radial retention may be provided by the backing plate alone or in combination with a counter plate, thus, constituting a one piece bearing casing. The counter plate may have an internal or an external edge return (13) which serves in the centering of the assembly, and an elastic overhanging seal (11, 14) may be mounted on the backing plate flange (9). |
