SEALED BUTTON TYPE BATTERY

A sealed encapsulated lead-acid accumulator cell consists of two halves, made of an acid resistant polymer housing. Each half includes a central connection boss with a central metal plug, welded on the inside end to an electrode an in contact with a metal connector cap on the outside. This cell need never be topped up with electrolyte. It can easily be stacked with others to form a battery. A simple vent merely allows the escape of excess hydrogen.
