PURPOSE:To increase the stability of control, by using a linear detector circuit as rectifier circuit, and controlling the processing means of image forming with the output thereof to make linear the relation between the surface potential of recording body and DC reproduction voltage. CONSTITUTION:In an electrostatic recording device having a detecting means to detect the surface potential on the recording body as AC output and plural processing means to apply various processings to the recording body and form image on the recording body, a surface electrometer 50 to detect the surface potential of a drum 11 is provided in a developing device 25, and the detected AC signal is amplified and reproduced in DC in a rectifying-smoothing circuit 205 to be led into a sample hold circuit 206, so that a development bias control circuit 207 may be controlled. Thus, since a linear detector circuit is used, the linearity of DC reproduction voltage characteristic with respect to the surface potential of the drum 11 may be improved, and the compensation for temperature may be also sufficient. |
