PURPOSE:To facilitate the stabilization in the diameter of discharged liquid and the cycle of discharge, the attainment of high-speed discharge frequency, and the employment of a multinozzle, by moving a laser-pulse generating means and making liquid drips be discharged from the orifices of a microliquid chamber. CONSTITUTION:When a signal is given by a laser pulse LZP to the recording liquid IK under the pressure P through the intermediary of a photothermal transducer H1, the temperature of the recording liquid in a chamber W1 rises and when it exceeds the evaporation point, an air bubble B is produced on the transducer H1. As a result, the pressure in the liquid chamber W1 is increased and thereby a part of the recording liquid having been in the part DELTAl is discharged from an orifice OF by the same volume as that of the air bubble. When the laser pulse is cut-off the air bubble B contracts and the recording liquid is supplemented to the part DELTAl from the sides of the orifice and P, while the discharged liquid is made to fly as drips toward the recording member PP. As for a multihead, a laser head LZH is moved at a high speed by a linear motor. |
