PURPOSE:To decrease the necessary number of the 2-dimensional image pickup device such as the TV camera, the photodiode array and others, by projecting the wide area of the travelling object onto the 2-dimensional photoelectric converting surface in a high resolution. CONSTITUTION:The 1st reflectors 61-63 are sealed to the tip part of branch hoods 51-53 each, and at the same time the 2nd reflectors 71-73 are sealed to each step of hood 1. The optical barrel part of TV camera 2 intrudes into hood 1, and reflectors 61 and 71, 62 and 72 plus 63 and 73 are distributed to the lens at the tip of the optical barrel part so that the surface images of sections A-C in the direction of width of steel material 4 may be projected in different steps. At the same time, sections A-C are also projected in the same magnification to secure an equal value for optical distances l11+l12+l13, l21+l22+l23 and l31+l32+l33 each rang ing from the surface of material 4 to the incident lens of camera 2. As a result, the surface images are projected on the screen of monitor TV3 and in a row in the vertical scanning direction. |
