The invention relates to continuous presses of the type comprising a movable conveyor belt forming a movable delimiting wall in an otherwise stationary pressure chamber which by introduction of a pressure medium to the interior of the pressure chamber is adapted to exert a pressing force onto a pressing goods, e.g. plywood, veneer or plastic laminate. According to the invention, the seal between the pressure chamber 6, 7 and the conveyor belt 1, 2 is accomplished by means of four packings 17 which are insertable in their longitudinal direction in sealing grooves 16 in each and any of the sideways delimiting walls 9, 10, 11, 12. Each of the packings 17 comprise a chute-shaped sealing strip 20 having a hose 21 of an elastic material inlaid in the sealing strip and which by connection to a source of a pressure medium is loading the packing 17 to sealing engagement with the conveyor belt, the sealing groove and adjacent packing. The construction of the sealing device simplifies exchange of packing and enables by means of individual connection to the source of pressure medium via a pressure regulating valve of each of the packings, an individual adjustment of the abutment force against the abutment surfaces for each of the packings. <IMAGE> |
