Joint housing and water barrier for multi-pair cables - has central joint housing taking filler and sleeve water barriers connecting to cable sheaths

The joint housing, or sleeve, has a greater dia. than the cable sheaths to which it is attached by watertight seals. It is filled to prevent water ingress. The pairs from the two multi pair cables are joined in the central part of the joint housing. The two parts of the central housing have a tube fitting back into the tubular water barrier seals connecting the central joint housing back to the cable sheaths. These water barrier tube seals are elasticised to fit onto the cable sheaths and onto the smooth and complete circumference of the joint housing extension tubes. The two parts of the central joint housing are locked together by an opposing twist screw action. Each half of the central housing has a hole through which filler may be pumped. In instances where filler is not required these holes can be plugged with a watertight stopper.
