<p>The instrument is intended for reading a street map or town plan with associated information, partic. for use in a car. The image of the map is carried on microfilm (17) and the instrument comprises a housing having a magnifying glass (12) arranged in its upper surface (11). The microfilm may be in the form of a film strip wound on two rotatable spools (13,14) whilst the magnifier (12) is arranged above the area between the spools. A light bulb (19) with reflector (20) and batteries (21,22) may be arranged between the spools. The film may, alternatively, be on transparencies which are individually movable under the magnifier.</p> |
