The impeller (60) is intended for moving the cooling air through the heat exchanger of an air-conditioning unit. It comprises a hub (10) with a number of blades (71) each having a segment (75) near its tip edge (72), a leading edge (73), and a trailing edge (74). The tip segment region (75) has an S-shaped cross-section along a circular arc (between 0.7 and 0.9D) about the impeller centre (O). This cross-section has a point of inflexion or a flat portion between leading (73) and trailing (74) edges. The blade surface from this point or portion to the leading edge is concave and to the trailing edge convex.
