An automatic tool changer includes a hollow main spindle (11) with a bore (12), a chuck (15) provided at an open end (11a) of the main spindle (11), a plurality of tools (61 to 66) accommodated in the bore (12) of the main spindle (11) and individual slidable axially of the main spindle (11), and means for pushing the tools (61 to 66) towards the open end (11a) of the main spindle (11), whereby a first tool (61) in the chuck (15) can be replaced by a second tool (66) accommodated in the bore (12) of the main spindle (11). |
