PURPOSE:To provide a condition judgment device of a photosensitive member of an electrophotographic apparatus capable of detecting a flaw on the photosensitive member and judges the deterioration with high accuracy. CONSTITUTION:An electrophotographic apparatus, wherein a density on a photosensitive member which toners are not stuck thereon is detected by a density detection sensor and an amplified gain is adjusted so that the detection signal becomes a prescribed level, comprises an average computing means 1 that computes the average of the amplified gains, a maximum/minimum detection means 3 that detects the maximum and minimum of the amplified gains, memory means 2, 4, 5 that store the average, maximum and minimum respectively, a computing means 6, 8 that selectively read the average, maximum and minimum stored in the memory means to compute information indicating the condition of the photosensitive member, a reference value memory means 7 that stores a reference value of information indicating the condition of photosensitive member and a judgment means 9 that judges the condition of the photosensitive member based on the information indicating the condition and the reference value. On the basis of the above constitution, it is possible to detect a flaw or the like on the photosensitive member and to judge the deterioration thereof with high accuracy, thereby maintaining a good quality copying. |
