PURPOSE:The titled composition which can form coatings excellent in transparancy, waterproofness, etc., by the addition of only a small amount of an organic solvent, prepared by emulsion-polymerizing a (meth)acrylate ester in which nitrocellulose and a vinyl acetate/(meth)acrylate ester block copolymer are dissolved. CONSTITUTION:A uniform solution is formed by mixing nitrocellulose with a vinyl acetate/(meth)acrylate ester block copolymer, a (meth)acrylate ester and, if necessary, other monomers. This solution is mixed with a surfactant, and the mixture is added dropwise to a system containing water and an initiator (e.g., potassium persulfate), and the resulting mixture is emulsion-copolymerized to form an emulsion composition. EFFECT:By the addition of only 10-20pts.wt. organic solvent to 100pts.wt. resin, the resin can form a composition capable of forming films excellent in solvent resistance and thermal blocking resistance. |
