PURPOSE:To improve the accuracy of KANA (Japanese syllabary)-KANJI (Chinese character) conversion without reducing the access speed of words, by using a retrieving means of a position where input words are stored, an attribute giving means which gives an attribute to the word or changes the word and an editing means respectively. CONSTITUTION:When a word is supplied from an input device 6 for addition, the area to which the supplied word should be inserted is retrieved within a record row of a word dictionary by a retrieving circuit 9 via an input buffer device 7. An editing circuit 8 inserts the word to the due area and shifts the subsequent data to the rear side. When a work is erased, the position where the word is stored, i.e., the record in the word dictionary is retrieved by the circuit 9. Then the circuit 8 moves the subsquent data up to the retrieved position. For the record formation of the word dictionary, the attribute items of words include ''parts of speech'', ''conjugation'', ''KANA header'' and ''mixture of KANJI and KANA''. These attribute items can be changed by an attribute giving circuit 10. |
