PURPOSE:To provide a titled shielding device which eliminates completely the turbulence of gas, decreases blowholes in the reinforcement of weld and to perform secure stud welding by ejecting the shielding gas from the tip of a long shielding cylinder enclosing the operating rod, chuck and stud of a welding gun. CONSTITUTION:A long shielding cylinder 20 enclosing the operating rod 6, chuck 10 and stud S of a stud welding gun is attached 21 to the base part of the rod 6. The shielding gas entering through a conduit 15 passes through a passage 13 and a gap G and is blown uniformly from the circumference of the stud S to the weld zone. The turbulence in the weld zone is completely eliminated as the gas is uniformly and stably blown. The blowholes in the reinforcement of weld in the weld zone are decreased and the stud welding is satisfactorily accomplished. |
