The subject of the invention is an element for anchoring wall parts, which can be fitted together by means of said element and consist of deformable sheet-like material or solid material, in the undercut longitudinal groove, having an opening slot, of a receiving part, into which groove the element can be introduced. It is the object of the invention to provide an element of this type which permits reliable anchoring of the respective wall part in the groove of the receiving part in a simple and time-saving manner which does not involve a great deal of effort. This object is achieved according to the invention in that the thickness of the element is dimensioned to be smaller than the width of the opening slot (9) of the longitudinal groove (10), such that the element can be inserted through the opening slot into the interior of the longitudinal groove, and that, after it has been pushed into the longitudinal groove, the change in the volume and contours of the element is such that it reliably prevents the element from being pulled out of the longitudinal groove transversely to the longitudinal extent thereof (Figure 1). <IMAGE>
